I can only tell you about the one I'm using. It's a RICOH MP5125A. It burns DVD+R/+RW with 2.4x speed which is enough for me. With the latest BIOS upgrades they fixt alot of problems and now the burner works fine with WinOnCD6. I personally decided to use +R/+RW because the industry lobby is much stronger. Until now I also had no problems with my burned DVDs. They can be read in my Toshiba DVD-Rom which only supports -R/-RW if you trust the tech. specs. They can also be read in my Sony DVD player and also in the no-name player from my parents. I know about 4 people who have their own dvd burner and they are all using +R/+RW. I mainly use Verbatim DVD+R because they are certified for the RICOH. |

I am thinking of getting a DVD burner,I need to know whether to go for DVD R+ or DVD R- as the local PC world didnt convince me one way or the other. Any help/advice would be much appreciated. Thanks Brian
