Hm....okay wel... stay tuned....
I am going to take that challenge! I will try and post some pics from SL in a short while. Wet pics.
Because there ARE people who know how to make very nice wet textures.. and then, with proper lighting and settings... You won't hear me saying it's 100% realistic. But hell, use your imagination!
To be continued. |

By Mahoney - Tue 24/02/09 17:25:00 GMT Computer programs even have problem with water. Water and to a lesser extent rain look absurdly unrealistic in even the most graphically advanced computer games and all the games with wetlook (which seem to be not of those most advanced when it comes to graphic) like The Sims series or Second Life are veeeeery bad at faking wetlook. As water and wet materials are the worst things to make on computers, I think wetlook will be reality's last stand over virtual reality many years from now :P M. |
In reply to Message (39160) CGI Wetlook
By Poliut - Tue 24/02/09 00:17:50 GMT Is there anyone that's ever tried making wetlook images using computer modeling programs? I know a lot of programs can make models that are extremely realistic and detailed in terms of appearance - both shape and texture. It could be a pain to pull off the "wet look" of clothing, especially if it's something that's partially wet (probably even moreso with CGI videos), but it could expand another avenue for the expression of wetlook, not to mention the added possibilities that it generates. |
